SEACOAST WOMENSGIVING CIRCLE
What’s the mission of the Seacoast Women’s Giving Circle, and just exactly who are these women?
The Mission of SWGC Is to improve the quality of life on the Seacoast through grassroots action and collective giving.
Each year, after consulting with area stakeholders and Giving Circle members, the group selects a community issue to examine. The annual topic reflects both the emergent needs of the Seacoast community and the interests of our membership. Through reading materials and guest speakers selected by the Learn committee, the Giving Circle's Board members learn about each cycle's particular topic at the monthly meetings. After gaining a broad overview of the issue, including current trends and local needs, the group targets a more specific area for investment.
Several times a year, the Giving Circle's Board members convene to study topics that will enhance the group's skill and knowledge of the non-profit sector, philanthropy, advocacy, and volunteerism. This year’s cycle is dedicated to Trauma.
In our current giving cycle, we have learned that trauma due to adverse childhood experiences, or ACEs, can negatively impact brain development and lead to poor life outcomes. ACEs include traumatic events such as experiencing and/or witnessing violence, abuse, neglect, family-related suicide, substance use disorders, mental health disorder, divorce or incarceration. We have learned that prevention and intervention can significantly reduce the negative impact of these events.
The 30 in 30 is very simply, a way for the artists of the Seacoast to band together to positively impact the efforts of non-profit organizations whose work promotes the quality of life here on the seacoast.
SEACOAST WOMENS GIVING CIRCLE WEBSITE

- The group is more than 160 members strong, and the Seacoast Women’s Giving Circle is fiercely committed to preserving and promoting the quality of life here on the Seacoast.

We never saw this coming when we planned this fundraiser in 2019 and of course we are sad to report that our Gallery opening for this event will not happen at our brick and morter location, but rather it will be virtual here online.. In the interest of public safety and in compliance with Federal and local advisory to social distance, it makes perfectly reasonable common sense to close our gallery until this Pandemic has run it's course and /or whatever is in the best interest of public safety.

By seeing well we can hope to be apt in our response -whether as an artist or a SWGC member or supporter. And after all:
